FinXL is very progressive and puts a substantial focus on digital transformation. By harnessing technological advancements, we knew that we could improve staff productivity at the same time as providing far greater insights and performance analysis tools to the management team.

Two key areas were highlighted as the focuses – the implementation of an interactive and highly configurable Sales Dashboard and the implementation of a Business Performance Dashboard.

A Steering Group was established to obtain requirements, analyse and outline priorities, and create working groups to carry out testing, provide feedback and ultimately roll out delivery.

Two key sets of requirements were identified as being: the ability to report on actual revenue and profitability based on financial records, and the facility to report on new business sales.

The working groups we tasked with researching available tools, in-house delivery capability and potential external partners.

Based on capability and some previous experience in using this application, Qlik’s Data Analytics was selected as the business reporting tool, and Microsoft’s PowerBI was selected as the sales reporting tool as it was embedded with the MS Dynamics Platform that we were already using.

A detailed strategy was developed regarding the execution and an agile approach was used to implement the new tools.

Both tools were effectively implemented and all staff successfully onboarded with minimal external expenditure.

The Business Dashboard provides monthly detailed P&L reporting across the business and significantly increases access to information, supporting and enabling decision-making around cost control, maximising cashflow and driving profitability.

The Sales Dashboard provides sales reporting and can be configured by time period, region, brand, salesperson or client. This provides improved transparency and visibility across the business allowing for continuous improvement.
