Peard Group

Peard Group has been selected as an ABA100® Winner for Business Excellence in The Australian Business Awards 2022. The Australian Business Award for Business Excellence [BXA] recognises organisations that have successfully implemented initiatives that demonstrate excellence in business management.

“Peard successfully operated with the traditional property management model for 23 years and five years ago I started researching an alternative way of operating to increase efficiencies. Line Management was earmarked for the future direction of the business. The downturn, pandemic and the labour shortage forced the Peard Group to jump into action and expeditated the need for change and adoption of line management.

“This approach allows the business to get the best out of its people, by giving them positions that suit their strengths and celebrates their differences.

“In order to facilitate the model change, Peard Group executed the following initiatives: Line management model; management support, internal promotions, training, recruitment strategy, A/B team roster, one company – one vision – consolidation, embracing technology, back to basics.

“Recognising the need to change, acting swiftly and focusing on promoting staff within the company is what has helped us be the marketing leaders for over 25 years.”

Melissa Farrell – Chief Operations Officer, Peard Real Estate

The Peard Group is an independently owned Real Estate business in Western Australia which has operated for over 25 years. The group consists of multiple businesses that offer clients property and financial services throughout their property journey. In the last two years, the Peard Group, like many businesses, was faced with a national recession and global pandemic.

In order to make it through challenging times, the businesses anaylsed its operations and implemented a strategy for the Property Management Division. The strategy consisted of the following initiatives to restructure the business and change the current property management model; line management model, management support, promotions, training, recruitment strategy, A/B team roster, consolidation and back to basics.

The outcome of the initiatives and strategy at large has encouraged a positive culture of communication and professional development in the Property Management Division.

The implementation of a new model has resulted in improvements in customer service and client satisfaction. Most importantly, the new model has brought the business into a new era of property management and fostered long lasting change so that the organisation can continue to grow into a third decade of business.
